Ringo Starr is celebrating his 80th birthday with a ‘Peace and Love’ virtual birthday bash featuring Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow, Dave Grohl & more.
The star-studded charity event will consist of exclusive at-home performances and previously unseen concert footage from a number of Ringo’s music friends.
The full lineup includes: Paul McCartney, Joe Walsh, Sheryl Crow, Ben Harper, Dave Grohl, Garyy Clark JR., Jeff Bridges, Jackson Browne, T Bone Burnett, Elvis Costello, Rodney Crowell, Steve Earle, Peter Frampton, Ray Wylie Hubbard, Kenny Loggins, Michael McDonald, Keb Mo and Willie Nelson.
Money raised during the event will be donated to the Black Lives Matter Global Network, MusiCares, The David Lynch Foundation, and WaterAid.
Ahead of this year’s livestream event, Starr posted a video saying, “At 12 noon, July 7th 2020, you go ‘peace and love’. ‘Peace and love’. That’s all I ask. Wherever you are; on a bus, down the mine, in a spaceship, in a rocket.”
