Post Malone’s virtual Nirvana tribute gig raised an incredible $2.8m (around £2.26m) for United Nations Foundation’s COVID-19 Solidarity Response Fund on Friday night.
Dressed in his finest choker and floral frock (in ode to Kurt Cobain’s iconic 90’s grunge style), the US rapper was joined by Blink 182 drummer Travis Barker, guitarist Nick Mack and bassist Brian Lee for a 15-song, 80 minute set of Nirvana covers.
Nirvana’s very own Krist Novoselic live-tweeted as the gig unfolded, writing: “I don’t think these fellows can play any better. They are on fire!!!! “I love you all!!!!” he added. “I am holding emotions back the whole show.”
