Artists, they’re just like us!
Seriously though, at this current time in history we are all in the exact same boat needing to take care of ourselves and others and stay home and social distance — artists included.
Unlike us however, artists are normally used to touring, being on stage and generally just being around others. So, what happens when you put them in isolation? Find out below, what 10 artists are up to while at home.
Perrie Edwards
You’ve likely downloaded Tik Tok while at home, we all have, including Little Mix’s very own Perrie Edwards. However, Perrie took it one step further with one of the best dance routines yet. #CoupleGoals
Going into a whole new realm of creativity, Perrie even started her own musical while at home. We think she’ll soon be crowned Queen of Quarantine!
Sam Smith
As soon as everything started closing, there was a rush of online fitness routines popping up everywhere. While we might feel empowered by attending our favourite fitness class with an uplifting teacher and group of motivating friends, exercise at home can be difficult for the best of us. Motivation in general is tough at the minute.
Sam Smith opened up about his own difficulties with exercise, especially during this time, suggesting an app that’s helped him. He also encouraged everyone to stay hopeful and stay inside. We love you, Sam!
We couldn’t post the above, without the below. Think we might need to frame this:

How’s everyone doing today?? Staying active?? Missing other humans so much ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🖤 @kookoo.s
Lizzo
Now more than ever, is a chance to spend time with yourself. Looking inwards can be difficult however at a time like this, particularly when the fear and paranoia can be so loud between all your other thoughts. The one and only Lizzo has taken this all into account and hosted a beautiful meditation session for her followers. A lovely way to practice connectivity during the social distance.
Jax Jones
Thinking of taking up a new hobby with more time on your hands? What about learning a new musical instrument? Jax Jones has gone all Miss Congeniality in a water glass music attempt. We must admit, we’re quite impressed!
Make sure you watch the full video 😉
Selena Gomez
Have you turned to all of the streaming to help get you through these quiet days? Same! We were running out of ideas of what to put on next. Thankfully, Selena Gomez has been doing the exact same and wrote out a full recommendation list for her followers.
Not only does it include movies, but music, books, podcasts & even Instagram accounts to follow. Into it! Thanks, Selena 😊
Bombay Bicycle Club
We’re known for a bit of shower singing ourselves, especially when we’re home alone, but if we’re honest, we’re not exactly pros. Looks like Bombay Bicycle Club’s front man, Jack Steadman has also been signing while at home on his own!
We’re absolutely blown away by his solo harmonizing of “Racing Stripes” – how beautiful is this? Looks like he’s taking requests too! Be right back while we get our request in.
Laura Marling
Due the coronavirus lockdown, Laura graced us all with her latest album, earlier than expected, Song For Our Daughter.
Not only was this a beautiful surprise for our ears, but Laura took this kindness one step further! She’s been posting an ongoing series on her Instagram page of guitar tutorials — check out her feed, as well as her tutorial highlight, where even more are saved. Laura’s latest lesson features a how-to for one of the songs from her brand new album, “The End Of The Affair.”
Be right back, we’re going to tune our guitar!
Tom Walker
Anyone looking for a joiner? We know him as singer-songwriter, but ‘man who has made door’ will soon need adding to Tom Walker’s CV! Like many of us, working on household tasks we’ve been putting off for ages (we’ll get to it eventually, we all say), Tom is taking on DIY while staying home.
This is both entertaining and impressive all in one. Go on, Tom!
Natasha Bedingfield
Okay we admit it, sometimes being at home can get outright boring — Natasha Bedingfield knows what we mean. Turning to Tik Tok has been a popular move for anyone with wifi, but have you heard the story behind the track being used in Natasha’s video?
Here’s the lowdown:
Tik Tok user @curtisroach uploaded this video to Tik Tok:
@curtisroachYou ever be bored at the house bored?🔥🔥 ##checkthisout ##bored ##fyp ##foryou ##xycba ##rap ##viral♬ BORED IN THE HOUSE – Curtis Roach
Tyga then used the sound in his Tik Tok video, which got 5 million views!
A couple weeks later, Tyga features the original singer of the song in his latest track:
Curtis Roach sent his verse through email, and they shot the video in their houses, while social distancing:
So if there was ever inspo to create while you’re at home – THIS is it. Imagine an artist getting in touch with you about your original Tik Tok? #Motivational
Declan McKenna
We couldn’t highlight artists self distancing without mentioning Declan McKenna. While Declan is at home on his own, he’s certainly got creative! Introducing the Declan McKenna band – which we mean all kinds of literally:

Here’s Declan McKenna’s performance from today on @sundaybrunchc4, featuring Declan McKenna
That must have taken him forever to film! Totally worth it though, we couldn’t stop watching.
Speaking of not being able to turn away. It looks like this Declan McKenna crew is doing more than just singing. Check out their version of the Renegade Tik Tok dance challenge – we’re obsessed with this one!

Remember, stay home and stay safe everyone 😊
