AMP Meets… Walt Disco

Share:

Britain’s premier music tastemaker Annie Mac has announced the return of AMP LONDON, bringing the best new talent in music from a variety of genres to the capital’s most loved music venues. We caught up with indie-pop quintet Walt Disco to find out what you can expect from their set…

What was your highlight of 2019?

There’s too many to choose from! Playing our first European shows was wonderful, not to mention our November tour with best pals The Ninth Wave!

Do you have any new year’s resolutions? Do you usually stick to them?

Mostly the usual boring resolutions, Jack’s joining the rest of us in cutting out meat. Finlay wants to become a good cook by the end of the year!

What’s the wildest thing you’ve ever put on a rider?

We’ve never really asked for much, but anything that isn’t just ready salted crisps is always appreciated!

What can we expect from your set?

Lots of eye contact with the audience, thunderous synths, and James’ finest drag queen inspired dance moves!

What’s your favourite thing about London?

We’ve got lot of good pals down in London so it’s always nice to see them, the gigs always have such a great atmosphere too!

What artist would you love to collaborate with?

We would love to work with St. Vincent one day! A.G Cook who produced the latest Charli XCX album would be incredible as well.

What’s your writing process?

Most recently we’ve enjoyed writing in our practice space as a full band and playing around with modern sounding production akin to PC music when we are demoing.

Any advice for any younger musicians who want to play something like AMP one day?

Always keep striving to develop your craftno idea is too stupid or too out there, it’s important to stand out!

will play at The Lexington on Saturday 7th March
