Don’t miss their upcoming show at Leeds First Direct Arena this December!
To kick off the fourth phenomenal night at Sounds of the City, indie rock luminaries the National took to the stage at Castlefield Bowl for an unforgettable evening of music and memories.
This marked the band’s first UK appearance since releasing their latest album ‘I Am Easy to Find’- a record packed with dream-like anthems, expansive melodies, and cinematic soundscapes fit for the heavens.
There are few bands who can hold a crowd of 8,000 using a setlist that leans so heavily on new material, but last night the National did so with absolute poise. This felt as though a step into their magical universe, giving us a taste of what’s to come from their UK arena tour this winter.
Don’t just take our word for it though… Here’s a roundup of what the crowd had to say after the show:
@TheNational tonight – one of the best Castlefield Bowl gigs ever if you ask me! #Manchester pic.twitter.com/99lL4mcknS

I sort of hate people too much these days to spend extended periods of time in close proximity to a few thousand of them, but despite that, @TheNational at the Castlefield Bowl tonight played “Pink Rabbits” so that made it more than alright. pic.twitter.com/iFkZSWRgBv
