After the most successful summer of his career to date, UK radio’s new music champion, MistaJam, today announces his autumn plans for music domination as he takes his Speakerbox concept on a nationwide tour for the very first time.
Fresh from his final Speakerbox festival stage of the summer at Creamfields, MistaJam has enlisted a host of established and exciting up-and-comers to ‘Join the Dots’ between the genres of music Speakerbox was set up in 2009 to represent, champion and push forward.
The Speakerbox head honcho has invited a cast of a few friends and extended Speakerbox family to join him on the road:
Rising American rap star Dominque Young Unique will be joining the dots between HipHop and Electronic music fresh from featuring on DJ Fresh’s and Diplo’s top five smash Earthquake taken from the soundtrack to Hollywood blockbuster Kick Ass 2.
London’s Ray Foxx dropped one of the tunes of the summer with Boom Boom (Heartbeat). Testament to its anthem status, the record went top 20 in the national charts and is still one of the most played records at British radio at the moment.
Long championed by MistaJam, Southampton’s DEVolution will also form part of the backbone of the tour after working with MNEK (Duke Dumont, Rudimental) on their forthcoming Transition EP, the follow up to the Black Butter records released Arrival EP.
Other acts joining them for selected dates includes Speakerbox’s own renaissance man Majestic who is preparing to release his highly acclaimed Creeping In The Dark single. Chase and Status’ MTA Records signed rap don Dream McLean will take to the stage with rhymes honed while touring with Professor Green. Hailed as the future of the Grime scene, Scrufizzer will dazzle with his trademark fizzy flow. Plus the man named as the saviour of 140 BPM by Mixmag DECiBEL; Bitr8, the voice behind the Speakerbox radio show on Ministry of Sound Radio; DMC Champion and Dizzee Rascal remixer DJ Cable and Manchester’s finest party starter DJ Fusion round up phase one of our announced acts.
As well as the already announced mammoth London Warehouse date at the launch of Building Six at the O2 on 12th October (full information available at http://londonwarehouseevents.co.uk/tickets/?r=1 ), the tour will see similarly legendary parties take place at The Ritz in Manchester (27th September), Leeds University Stylus (28th September), Liverpool’s O2 Academy (4th October) and Birmingham’s Institute (11th October).
