The electro-drenched fivesome that we know and love as Hot Chip, are back with their newest release, In Our Heads.
It’s quite a feat that the band have managed to make this record in some ways. Band member, Joe Goddard has been touched by the hand of success with his side project, The 2 Bears. Raf Rundell joins Goddard in the productive duo who have managed to cook up several EPs as well as a full album in their three years as The 2 Bears. Goddard’s also proven to be a dab hand at re-working the tracks of others as well, which is beautifully showcased in his remix of Shining Star by Nneka.
However, Hot Chip is still quite clearly a top priority for Goddard as he is back with the band for their 5th studio release, In Our Heads.
In Our Heads is a milestone for the group with a string of previous successes already on the path behind them including Grammy and Mercury nominations. Although they spend a lot of time in the studio honing their instrumentation, their live performances showcases their energetic melodies best. Catch them on tour soon and hear, In Our Heads really spring to life. Hot Chip classics such as the anthemic “Over and Over”, early hit, “And I Was A Boy From School” are also likely to be part of the new sets.
