House and disco favourites AZARI & iii & are set to play their gig at London’s famous XOYO on 11th August – and to coincide with the night, they have just released their hotly-anticipated debut self-titled album today on Loose Lips Records.
The Toronto four-piece, comprised of vocalists Fritz Helder and Starving Yet Full with producer/ musicians Dinamo Azari and Alixander III are a unique bunch, with a sound unlike anything else you are likely to have heard. Described as moody electronica with dark vocal choruses and analog-thick rhythms means that the band have managed to maintain their underground sound, whilst finding a gap in the market to take their music beyond the clubs that they once played. Their infusion of future sounds with elements of past house music makes this band fresh, and the ones to watch over the next year or two…
To get a feel for the boys, listen to tracks like ‘Hungry For The Power’, ‘Reckless For Your Love’ and ‘Stay Here’ with Friendly Fires – all with an equally brooding beat and sordid-pop edge.
There is no escaping these guys, and after listening to them, I assure you that you won’t want to. Make sure to get your tickets soon for the XOYO gig here at gigsandtours.
