Blink 182 are back following a 5 year hiatus from making music, and a 7 year hiatus since their last headline tour! I find this crazy to comprehend as it feels like Blink never went away – I guess that’s testament to the staying power of the group who will always have a legion of adoring fans.

There were many disappointed fans when the boys had to reschedule their 2011 European Summer tour due to scheduling issues and limited time to finish their new album in time. Rather than playing a ‘Greatest Hits’ Tour, of which they have done time and again, they wanted to have fresh material to perform and so thougt it best to wait until they could carry this out. With a statement that read: “Frankly, it’s what needs to continue for us to remain vital. The three of us are working very hard to do what we set out to do when we re-formed…get a new blink-182 album recorded. Apologies to all of our fans who have bought tickets and were looking forward to the Summer shows but we’ll be back soon with the rescheduled dates in Summer 2012, have a new album out and be able to play new songs for you all”.

And they stuck to their word, as the pop punk pioneers will be hitting the road along with yet to be released (but yet to be amazing) support! To whet your appetitite for their Summer tour, the boys have just released (this morning, to be precise) their new single ‘Up All Night’ on the
official Blink 182 website – the song will be made available to buy on iTunes this Sunday.

For those die-hard Blink 182 fans, I’m sure this is going to excite you a helluva lot as it has been, what? 7 years since they last released a song!? Well, you’re in for a treat…
