Wowzers, what a year we’ve had! 2010 has seen some hot new talent emerge as well as some really memorable live performances. Artists inclucing Hurts, Chapel Club, Janelle Monae, Lissie, The Drums, Ellie Goulding, Delphic, Two Door Cinema Club and I Blame Coco amongst many others have made a massive impact on both our minds and on the live gig scene.
2010 has also seen Take That take the title of Biggest Selling Tour in UK History, selling a record 1 million tickets on it’s first day with further dates being added to cope with the phenonmenal demand. Fans managed to bring the UK internet and phonelines to a virtual standstill. The news that they were to re-unite with Robbie for a UK tour sent the UK into a frenzy! What a week that was.
In addition to this, 2010 saw some absolutely cracking live shows inclucing The Warriors Dance Festival at Milton Keynes Bowl as well as Green Day and Muse’s outdoor gigs in both Manchester and Wembley. V Festival was another highlight of 2010 with some really memorable performances from The Prodigy, Madnesss, Faithless and Plan B.
With such a fab 2010, can 2011 really get any better? We’ve had our noses in the music pot and reckon it just might top it especially with the likes of Jessie J, Fenech Soler, Jamie Woon, Rumer, Francesqa and Metronomy moving in on the action. And not forgetting everbody’s favourite boyband of the moment, The Wanted!!
Not to mention, the great live shows already lined up for 2011 from some of our favourite (and well established!) bands such as Big Country, Levellers, Blink 182, Elbow and The Specials.
And here’s a last little festive treat to see you through…..
