ICYMI: Maverick Sabre Releases New Song With Jorja Smith

Share:

Earlier this month, singer-songwriter Maverick Sabre released his new soulful track ‘Slow Down’ featuring BRIT nominee Jorja Smith. The swung RnB track takes on a contemporary feel while also hinting at the more classic sounds from artists such as Amy Whinehouse. The two vocalists are well suited with their unique off-handed tones, so it’ll be no surprise this isn’t their first collaboration as in 2016 he featured on Smith’s minor song ‘Carry Me Home’.

‘Slow Down’ will appear on his third album When I Wake Up, due next month. The independently-released record is an acutely personal and poignant body of work from the respected artist and includes another powerful feature from Grammy nominee Chronixx.

Sabre stepped into the limelight in 2011 when he appeared on Professor Green’s single ‘Jungle’, peaking at number 31 in the UK Singles Chart. In 2012, he released his debut album Lonely Are The Brave which gave us hits such as the emotionally charged ‘I Used To Have It All’ and the upbeat ‘Let Me Go’. This release saw him gracing through hip hop (where his roots lie) and folk, portraying what broad musician he is so early on in his career. This was followed up with Innerstanding three years later; an album which Renowned For Sound called “yet another enjoyable album from a talented artist”.

This April, he will embark on a huge UK tour alongside Jordan Max and Olivia Dean. Tickets are selling fast so grab yours now!
